Yaa's story

Yaa is married and has seven children. She sells kenkey (fermented maize dough) in Emissa Krom, near Cape Coast, which she has done for the past eight years. Her husband is a farmer. Yaa uses her income to pay her children's school fees. Yaa will use the loan to purchase bags of maize for her kenkey production. With the new profits from her expanded business, Yaa plans to continue to support her children.
