Lena's story

Lena is a 54-year-old married mother of two sons. She works as a medical assistant in the local hospital. Her salary is 9,221 som. However, as Lena is the main income provider for her family, she also works in animal husbandry. She started her business with 5,000 som 33 years ago. Thanks to persistent work, she has been able to develop her farm so that milk sales provide her with a monthly profit of 6,000 som. Today she has one cow and three steer on her farm.

With long term development of her farm in mind, Lena turned to Bai Tushum and Partners for a loan of 120,000 som to purchase four cows, which would allow her to increase her milk production and as a result her family's income. Lena plans to invest this new income to develop her farm and eventually to buy a home for her son.
