A loan of $2,400 helped a member to buy vegetables.

Grupo Empresarial Group's story

Katherine is one of the members of the “Empresarial” group. She’s single and 20-years-old and is living in her aunt’s house. Katherine works selling vegetables. She started the business thanks to her aunt who taught her how to be a merchant. She leases a stand in her local market where she sells all types of vegetables and tubers. Her work is very demanding. She must rise at dawn every day to buy fresh products at good prices. Her best customers are housewives who buy from her daily. In the afternoon she studies and her work covers those costs. Katherine wants to have a bigger business and will use the loan towards that end, to buy vegetables at wholesale and earn higher income. Katherine is grateful to all Kiva lenders for supporting her business and allowing her to continue to make progress. In the photo, Katherine appears wearing pink pants and a gray shirt. On the right hand side is Sr. Filiberto wearing jeans and a light blue shirt.
