Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $600 helped to buy insecticides, urea, and herbicides.

Hector Aron's story

Héctor Aron, age 18, is single and does not have children. He lives with his parents in the city of Ventanas in the Los Ríos province.

The Guasmo communal bank is located in the Agua Fría de Mocache precinct in the Mocache canton. They devote themselves to farming and livestock.

Hector grows corn. He is requesting the loan to buy insecticides, urea, and herbicides. With the help of the loan he will be able to buy what he needs for his crops. He will make his purchases in Mocache.

His dream is to be able to buy a vehicle for work. In his free time he likes to go out to eat with his family.
