Osman's Group's story

Pictured here are teachers of a primary school in Kenema, a city in Eastern Sierra Leone. This group of teachers has come to SMT, a partner of Kiva, in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone to request for a loan of 5,100,000 SLL. With the help of this loan, these teachers will be able to solve their immediate financial needs. And at the end of each month, they will repay the loan using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for doing the deductions and making the repayments on their behalf.

David is the featured leader of this group of teachers. He is 44 years of age. David is a native of Boajibu. He is married to a housewife and they have six children who are attending primary and secondary schools. David has served in the teaching profession for 14 years now. He has requested this loan in order to pay school fees for his children.
