Isaac's story

Isaac is 27 years old, married, and has one child. He lives in the town of Arua hill in the Arua region of Uganda. For the past five years, Isaac has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which sells flour, sugar, and soap.

To help expand his business, Isaac is requesting a loan from BRAC Uganda for 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings, which he will use to purchase essential commodities such as milk, bread, sugar, and soap. This loan will help Isaac generate greater profits and pay for his family's medical expenses and food. Isaac hopes that in the future he will be able to expand his business.

Isaac is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Isaac who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
