A loan of $825 helped to buy more clothes for re-sale.

Adam's story

Adam is 39 years old and lives in the town of Paidah in the Arua region of Uganda. He is married and has 4 children; two of them are currently in school. For the past 7 years, Adam has been working hard to manage his small business, which sells secondhand clothes.

To help expand his business, Adam has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more clothes for re-sale and will help Adam to generate greater profits and pay school fees for his children. Adam hopes that in the future he will be able to start up another side business with the loan.

Adam is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Adam who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
