A loan of $775 helped to purchase more banana fruits to be sold.

Justine's story

Justine is 49 years old and lives in the town of Kintintale in the Kampala South region of Uganda. She is widowed and has three children.

For the past 30 years, Justine has been working hard to manage her banana kiosk, which sells bananas at wholesale.

To help expand her business, Justine has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more banana fruits to be sold, and it will help Justine to generate greater profits and increase her sales and savings.

Justine hopes that in the future she will be able to start a retail store.

Justine is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Justine who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
