A loan of $775 helped to purchase wood, screens, and nails.

Maria's story

María, who is 70, is a very hardworking and driven woman. She has been married for many years and has five children with her husband. She lives in the home they own with her husband and only one son, since the rest have started their own families. She constantly contributes to her household economy, so she works hard every day in order to have a better quality of life.

María currently works renting out rooms. She has set up eight rooms on her land which she rents. Her husband, her children, and ocasionally some laborers helped her build the rooms. She has been doing this for over fifteen years. Now she is right in the middle of remodeling some of the rooms by replacing some wooden windows and doors. On the side, she owns two mototaxis that allow her to earn a daily payment that helps her cover home expenses.

She is interested in both businesses because they allow her to earn an income from the comfort of her home and without much effort. She is happy to be able to contribute to her family's livelihood. She hopes both businesses go well for her so that she can keep working without any problems. She is now requesting a loan of 2,000 soles to purchase wood, which she will use to build doors and windows that need to be replaced in some of the rooms. She will also buy nails and screens for the windows.
