A loan of $600 helped to buy insecticides, urea, herbicides, and balanced feed for fattening her animals.

Annabelle Gisella's story

Annabelle Gisella is 37 years old, married and has two children. She lives with her husband and children in the city of Ventanas in De Los Rios province.

The members of the San Antonio communal bank work in agriculture. They all live around the rural settlement of Aguas Frias. Almost all of them have grown up in that area, and the majority work in agriculture and livestock-raising.

Gisella is a farmer; growing corn, cacao and raising chickens and pigs. She is applying for the loan in order to buy insecticides, urea, herbicides, and balanced feed for raising her animals. With the help of the loan she will be able to buy seeds. She will make her purchases in the city of Ventanas.

Her dream is to buy more land in order to increase her output. The challenges she faces are crop and animal diseases. In her free time she likes to get together with friends and to go to mass on Sundays.
