A loan of $600 helped to buy insecticides, urea and herbicides.

Rosa Antonia's story

Rosa Antonia is 47 years old, single, and has a son. She lives with her son, who is 23, in the city of Ventanas in De Los Rios province. The members of the San Antonio communal bank work in agriculture. They all live around the rural settlement of Aguas Frias. Almost all of them have grown up in that area, and the majority work in agriculture and livestock-raising.

Rosa Antonia is a farmer, growing corn and raising chickens. She is applying for the loan in order to buy insecticides, urea and herbicides.

With the help of the loan, she will be able to buy seeds. She will make her purchases in the city of Ventanas.

Her dream is for her son to become a fine professional. The challenges she faces are crop and animal diseases. In her free time she likes to write letters to friends and family members.
