A loan of $600 helped to buy insecticide, urea, herbicide and chicken feed.

Erika Jeanina's story

Erika Jeanina, 24, is in a free union and has a son; she lives with her parents in the city of Ventanas, Los Ríos Province. She’s in the “San Antonio” communal bank whose members work in agriculture and live in the Recinto Aguas Frías sector. They’ve practically been raised in this zone and for the most part work in agriculture and animal husbandry.

Erika works growing corn and raising chickens. She’s requesting the loan to buy insecticide, urea, herbicide and chicken feed to raise them and fatten them up. With help from the loan she will be able to buy corn seeds and animal feed. She will make her purchases in the city of Ventanas. Her dream is to always be in good health in order to continue to work. The challenge she faces is crop diseases and competition in animal prices. She likes cleaning her house in her free time.
