Ventanas, Ecuador / Agriculture

A loan of $600 helped to buy insecticides, urea, herbicides, as well as balanced feed for his animals.

Cesar Felix's story

Cesar is 28 years old, married, and has three children. He lives with his wife and children in the city of Ventanas in De Los Rios province. The members of the San Antonio communal bank work in agriculture. They all live around the rural settlement of Aguas Frias. Almost all of them have grown up in that area, and the majority work in agriculture and livestock-raising.

Cesar is a farmer, growing corn and raising hens and pigs. He is applying for the loan in order to buy insecticides, urea, herbicides, as well as balanced feed for the animals.

With the help of the loan, he will be able to buy what he needs for his crops and to raise his animals. He will make his purchases in the city of Ventanas.

His dream is to be able to buy more land. The challenges he faces are crop pests and competition in selling his animals. In his free time he likes to watch television and sleep.
