A loan of $1,475 helped a member to purchase corn, firewood, quicklime and beans.

Consuelo Group's story

This group is made up of four successful small business women. One of these is Brunilda who is 58 years old and a single mother of five children, most of whom are adults. She has been making tortillas in her home for the past four years and has been with ADIM for six years.

She started by selling vegetables in her house. Then she had the idea to sell tortillas because there were few businesses selling tortillas in her community and she earns a good income from it. She will use the loan to purchase basic ingredients such as corn, firewood, quicklime and beans.

Other members of the group are Consuelo who sells Avon and Zermat cosmetics, Judith who has been selling clothing and perfume for nine years and Maribel who sells various new clothing.
