A loan of $5,850 helped a member to buy 40 bags of cassava flour.

Utulivu Group's story

Kavira, the leader of the business group "Utulivu", is an older entrepreneur, 56 years old, widowed and the mother of 6 children and numerous grandsons and granddaughters. Her husband died after a long, chronic illness. She sells cassava flour at an agricultural depot in the commercial centre of Birere. She has been doing these types of small (revenue-generating) activities for 15 years.

She has just received her 19th loan from MFI Hekima. This new loan will be used to buy 40 bags of cassavas. She would also like to watch her children grow and increase her business.

The customer thanks Hekima for its actions in aid of poor widowed women excluded by classic banks.
