Mwaka is 48, years old, widowed, and has eight children, two of whom attend school. She owns a business in which she devotes herself to preparing breakfasts and lunches in a food stall. Her stall is located in the town market, which is very good location. She earns a good income. Her food is quite delicious and sanitary and so her customers are highly satisfied with her work.
Mwaka is requesting a loan, which she will use to purchase vegetables, meat, seafood, basic staples, fruit, spices, and other ingredients for making a more extensive menu that would satisfy her customers' wishes and expand her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
