A loan of $600 helped a member to buy two pigs to raise and sell.

Rat's Group's story

Rat, a citizen from the Kror Lanh district of Siem Reap Province, is 65 years old and has three children. She is a widow who makes a living selling groceries. For the 10 years that she has been involved in this business, she has been able to earn about 20,000 KHR per day. Rat's group consists of two female members, who are second-time borrowers with VisionFund (Kiva's partner). She has successfully repaid her first loan, which supported her family and her business. Now, she and her co-group member are seeking 1,200,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy two pigs to raise. She hopes to raise healthy pigs so she can sell them at a high price so she has the income to maintain her living condition.
