A loan of $700 helped a member to buy fertilizer for his farmland and piglets to raise.

Rin's Group's story

Rin, a 49-year-old married father, lives in a rural area of the Kror Kor district of Pursat province, Cambodia. He has five dependent children, two of whom are dependents and still in school.

To make a living, he has been farming rice for 12 years, though sometimes he works for others for a fee. Rin can earn about KHJR 13,000 per day and manages to save about KHR 8,000 each day after offsetting daily expenses.

Rin has been with VisionFund for two cycles, while his group member has been with VisionFund for three.. Rin fully paid back his past loans, which have helped his family with enough food.

Now he is leading his group of two to apply for another loan. He is going to use his portion to buy fertilizer for his farmland and a portion of it to spend on buying piglets to raise to earn additional income. He hopes to grow his rice healthfully so as to improve his standard of living and keep his children in school.
