Placido's story

Placido is 37 years old. He is a friendly and enterprising man. He lives in his own house, along with his partner, Leydith, who works for the city government. They have four children who Placido hopes to provide with a good education. Placido's work is selling staple goods like rice, sugar, milk, eggs, flour, oil, etc. He sells these goods in a store that is located inside his home. He started this work because the people in his neighborhood needed it. Before, in order to buy something they had to go into the city. Then he had the idea to build a store and to dedicate himself to selling products. He performs this work together with Leydith, who is his partner, and she invests her salary from the city in the family business. Placido comments that his business is profitable because he has many customers and because his store is located such that it is accessible to the entire neighborhood.

Before he started this business, Placido did not have the money he needed. He had the storefront built but it was empty. Then he decided to rent a car to use as a taxi, and he saved up the capital he needed to open his store. He hopes to continue growing his business and to stock it with a variety of products. This will be his third loan with Microfinanzas Prisma (MFP). He is very happy to have the backup capital he needs for his business. He is motivated to continue being punctual with his repayments to MFP. With the requested 3,000 nuevos soles, he will invest in buying groceries like rice, sugar, milk, eggs, dried vegetables and other products. He will also buy paint in order to paint his store, improve the infrastructure and to better serve his customers.
