Ramon Alfonso's story

Ramón is 58 years old, single, and the father of three children. He is a farmer, and has completed basic primary school studies. He works processing achote (annatto), and sells it as a seasoning to be used in cooking. He realized that annatto was his most profitable plant, and packages his product to be sold to clients in the municipalities of Palacaguina. He also generates income by selling lemons and bananas. Ramón's goals are to increase the planting area in which he grows his lemons, bananas, and annatto, in order for this part of his business to generate more income. Ramón is applying for this loan to pay for labor and to purchase supplies such as manure, fertilizers, etc. to use for planting. He believes this loan will help him to adequately maintain his annatto harvest, and in this way, increase production
