A loan of $500 helped to buy rice, sugar, soft drinks and holiday items for her store.

Ana Isabel's story

Ana is originally from Estelí. She is 40 years old and the mother of two children between the ages of 14 and 23 years of age. She is a merchant. She began with her own capital, money that she got from selling “fritanga” (fried food). She has had a grocery store for more than three years with which she gets ahead with the support of her husband who helps her serve the customers.

Ana is asking for a loan in order to buy rice, sugar, soft drinks, holiday items, etc. She believes that by buying these products of high demand, it would help her to increase sales and expand her business during this holiday season, and thus to obtain better earnings in her grocery store.

Her future plan is to make improvements to her home, in order for her business to have a better appearance.
