A loan of $4,250 helped a member to buy orders of shoes.

Abejas Group's story

The Abejas group are hardworking like their namesake, the bee. They are enterprising and support each other in moving forward. They are a unified group who have been through 4 loan cycles. Maria Luisa is 40 years old, married, and has 3 children aged 22, 18 and 7. She works selling shoes from a catalogue. She started doing this 2 years ago due to financial need as well as the fact that she likes sales. She began selling 5 pairs per week, and now sells up to 10 pairs. The loan will help her to buy more orders of shoes that she can have for her winter inventory. Maria Luisa would like to be able to have her own shoe business.
