Nuevo Amanecer (Cuenca) Group's story

The communal bank Nuevo Amanecer (New Dawn) is formed by 10 members who live in the Zhidmad parish of Cuenca, a place that is surrounded by nature. Its people are warm and kind. They work in agriculture and raising animals, and they also work in the city in a variety of economic activities, always with one goal, which is improving the economies of their households and getting their families ahead. They still keep alive their cultures and traditions which were once instilled in them.

One of the members of this group is Señora Rosa Lastenia. She has been part of the communal bank Nuevo Amanecer for 10 years. She is 32 years old. She is married and from this union has conceived 4 children, ages 12, 9, 6, and 3. Her oldest daughter is studying in secondary school and two of her children attend a little city school. Her husband works as a cook in a restaurant in the city. The house in which they live is the reward for their work as a couple.

Señora Rosa Lastenia spends the greater part of her time in her home, which she raises pigs and chickens. She also works in agriculture, and what she harvests is for consumption in her home. For some years she has worked as a domestic employee, and she works only on the days when she is called.

She is going to invest her new loan in the purchase of pigs and food for her animals.

Her goal is to have a store in her house.
