Marbely

A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase basic grains, soda, juice, dairy products, meat, canned goods, and oats.

Marbely's story

Marbely is a 32 year old, humble, businesswoman. She is married and takes care of a general store. She began this business at a time when neither she nor her husband had a steady job due to the economic situation. In addition, this business has enabled her to help her sisters get ahead. After four years, she started a “caponera” business (“Caponeras” are bicycles with canopies and seats that are used to transport people from one place to another. They are very popular because of their lower prices compared to taxis). They also sell wholesale ice cream, a business that is managed by her husband while she takes care of the general store and the “caponera” business.

She needs the loan to purchase basic grains, soda, juice, dairy products, meat, canned goods, and oats because these are the products demanded most by her customers. In the future, she plans to expand the wholesale ice cream business, add more grocery products to the general store, and help her sisters establish a beauty salon so that they will have their own source of income.
