A loan of $925 helped to buy supplies like fertilizers and to pay for labor to prepare the land and to transplant the crop.

Salomon's story

Salomón, age 36, is married and has four children. He lives in a neighborhood in the Negrito municipality in Yoro.

When he was a boy he learned to cultivate rice together with his father. He has been growing his own rice crops for eight years. This product is now ready to sell to the local consumers and outlying customers.

Salomón has maintained his crops well through the investment of various loans. This is his 23rd cycle. He will use this loan for 18,000 lempiras to buy supplies like fertilizers and to pay for labor to prepare the land and to transplant the crop. With this investment he hopes to get better production and better income so that he can continue supporting his children’s education and improve his house.
