A loan of $375 helped to invest in purchasing merchandise for her business due to year-end sales increase.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth is 38 years old and has three school-age children. She sells household items such as blankets, quilts, pots among other items on credit and in cash. She lives in the Minasa area. She delivers her goods on credit, monthly and biweekly, to homes as well as markets where she has many customers. This is her first loan that she has taken with the institution. Elizabeth will use this loan to purchase merchandise for her business because products increase at the end of the year and she wants to stock up on merchandise, as her sales also increase.

Her reason for requesting this loan is lack of cash so she was encouraged to apply for the loan. Elizabeth faces challenges in her business which is the sale of various items sold on credit has increased in recent years so competition is her biggest challenge and she will use profits to purchase new clothes, pressure cookers, blankets, quilts and other year-end items. Her wish is to finish building her home as she is now living in her parents’ home.
