A loan of $200 helped buy merchandise like fruits and groceries.

Elsa Renne's story

Elsa, 46, lives in the city of Chiclayo with her little boy, whom she loves and is her principal motivator in life. She's a very kind, hard-working and enthusiastic person who dedicates all of her efforts to getting her little boy ahead, since she is mother and father to her son; unfortunately, Elsa wasn't able to pursue a university degree as she had to help her parents with the household expenses; she would have liked to have studied nursing. In her free time she likes to watch television and sometimes she cooks a delicious meal of duck with rice for her family.

By her own initiation, with much determination and enthusiasm, Elsa works in her kiosk selling fruit, desserts and bread. She works every day from early in the morning and works for about 6 hours. She enjoys her work and thinks it's going well because she counts on her good clients who always go to her.

She is very thankful for the Kiva lenders. With their help, she can buy merchandise for her business, like fruits and groceries. That way, her business will be better stocked and she'll be able to increase sales. And she'll also be able to continue working and making an effort to reach her big dream of expanding her business and having her own store.
