Nasipa is 60 years old and a widow. She has begun working in animal husbandry and raising crops, and this has become the main source of income for her family. In 2006, she began her business with a start-up sum of only 3,000 Kyrgyzstan Som (KGS.) She has managed to develop her farm, which now includes 1 cow and calf and 10 sheep, bringing in monthly earnings of 3,000 KGS. On her land, Nasipa grows barley and straw. She fattens cows and sells them at the local cattle market. For the purpose of further developing her business, Nasipa has approached Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 30,000 Som (KGS) to buy more cattle. She plans to use the extra income generated by this loan to re-invest in her business and, in the future, to renovate her home.
