A loan of $400 helped to buy merchandise.

Delmi Ynes's story

Delmi, 62, lives in the city of Chiclayo. She has six children, whom she loves and who are her main motivation in life. She's a very kind, hardworking, and enthusiastic woman who has devoted all her effort to getting her family ahead, because she has always been both father and mother to her children.

Delmi wasn't able to finish her elementary school education because from a very young age she had to work to help her parents. Her family was very modest and didn't have the resources to give them a good education, but she very much would like to have studied for a professional career. In her free time she likes to watch television, and sometimes she cooks a delicious spaghetti and tomato sauce to spoil her children.

On her own initiative, and with a lot of hard work and dedication, Delmi works every day in her small business selling clothing for women, men, and children. She can work approximately 12 hours. She's comfortable in her job and believes it's going well for her because of her good prices and her kind treatment of her customers.

Delmi is very grateful to the Kiva lenders because thanks to their help she'll be able to buy merchandise to supply her business: polo shirts, blouses, pants, shirts, and other garments. This way Delmi will continue working and making the effort to achieve her dream of expanding her business and turning it into a big boutique.
