A loan of $300 helped to buy clothing, footwear, perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, and accessories.

Maria Marta's story

44-year old Maria runs a store selling merchandise such as footwear, clothing, lotions, and women's accessories. She sells some items to her customers on credit. As well she works as a maid. Maria has one year experience with her business; she started it in order to earn extra income.

Maria started taking out loans with the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation and received a housing loan in the Villas de San Pablo project. Then she received a state subsidy to fulfill her dream of having a house of her own.

Now she is seeking a loan to buy clothing, footwear, perfumes, lotions, cosmetics, and women's accessories so she can continue expanding her store at this important time of year when sales increase: Christmas and the New Year. This is when everyone gets dressed up to attend family festivities.

Maria's principal goal is to educate her children who are now 19 and 21 years old so they can have success in the future.
