Salamatu is married to a mason and has 3 children. She sells waakye, which is rice and beans cooked together. She serves it with gari (a couscous-like grain made from grated cassava) , macaroni, meat and fish stew. Salamatu has been selling waakye for 11 years now. She uses her income to support her husband to pay their children’s school fees.
Salamatu needs this loan to purchase bags of rice, beans and other ingredients for the preparation of her waakye to sell. With the new profit, Salamatu will expand her business.
