Surendra's story

Surendra is a 30-year-old physically disabled person living with his wife and one child, in the small village of Puri in Odisha, India. He is engaged in doing carpentry. He takes orders from his customers for making doors, chairs, tables etc. He earns 8,000 INR per month from this activity, which is not sufficient for his family to survive.

He wants to enlarge his business by taking orders in bulk from his customers and fulfilling their demands on time. He wants to purchase new and advanced tools for making furniture and wooden logs to prepare ready-made furniture like small tables, coffee tables etc.

He has applied for a loan of 20,000 INR for purchasing the above items. He says that by doing so, his monthly income will increase and he will be able to give his family a good standard of living.
He has a dream of having his child study in a good school and saving some money for his family’s bright future.
