A loan of $300 helped a member to buy fertilizer for her farmland.

Sarean's Group's story

Sarean is 26 years old and lives with her family in a rural village located in the Moungkul Borey district of Banteay Meanchey province. She is married with two children who are still in school. Rice farming has been the main source of her family’s income for twenty years. The current business earns her about 15,000 KHR per day and she manages to save about 8,000 KHR each day for future needs.

Sarean’s group consists of two members who live in the same village. Sarean has just joined VisionFund this loan cycle, and is leading her group to request a loan of 600,000 KHR each. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer for her farmland. She hopes to grow her rice more healthfully and fruitfully so as to make a better living and keep her children in school.
