A loan of $4,925 helped a member to buy grocery products.

Lider De Defensores Group's story

Nilda is one of the members of the "Lider de Defensores" group. Nilda is 55 years old and has six children, of whom only one lives with her and her husband. Nilda has a small grocery store in her own home. In the store, she shares the work with her daughter, who helps her in the mornings. Nilda looks after the store in the afternoons, after returning from her other job with the municipal government of her district. The store allows her to have income for meeting some of her family's expenses and helping her husband. With the loan she has applied for, she will buy grocery products such as rice, sugar, noodles and pulses. With this investment, she hopes to improve her store and have more customers, so that she can increase her income. Nilda is very thankful to the Kiva investors, knowing that they will support her in her business. In the photo, she appears in the middle of the group, wearing a black sweater and with her hair pulled back.
