Yilmer is a young enterpriser, merely 18 years old, and because he has spent many years working along side of his father in the business of buying and selling fruits and vegetables he hopes to be able to begin his own business and thus generate his own income in a way that in the future he can offer his parents and siblings a better quality of life at home. Thanks to the time that he has worked with his father, he has been able to aqcuire experience and has taken advantage of this, hoping that his business will grow quickly. The greatest difficulty that he has is the small amount of money that he has to begin the business; this is why Yilmer asks for a loan to buy the initial assortment of fruit and vegetables and thus start his own business of buying and selling fruits and vegetables.
His dream is to come to have a great business where he can have good sales so that the income he receives allows him to offer his family a better quality of life and greater financial opportunities to progress.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
