Enock

Uganda
Masaka, Uganda / Services

A loan of $325 helped to purchase a mobile phone, solar charging set and weighing scale so that he may provide vital farming information to his community.

Enock's story

Enock is 25 years old. He earns his income through the sale of crops and livestock. He grows maize, beans, rice, cassava and bananas. He also keeps cows, goats, sheep, pigs and chickens.

Enock looks forward to becoming a Community Knowledge Worker (CKW). As a CKW he will use the materials in his business-in-a-box (smartphone, solar charging set and weighing scale) to disseminate vital agricultural information to the other members of his village, helping them to improve their crop yields and to increase their incomes.

With the additional money that he will earn as a CKW, Enock will save up for a fish farming business that he would like to start. He dreams of opening up a technical school in his village.
