In addition, he is married with seV. children: two of his children are employed in a garment factoR., two are fishermen, two are enrolled in state school, and the other child stays at home. His wife, Mrs. Lou Aok, is a fish-seller. Last year, Mrs. Lou Aok was diagnosed with high blood pressure, so Mr. Huy U. incurred $125 of expenses to cure her. During that time, Mr. Huy U.’s fishing business faced a severe storm, and he was unable to catch many fish to support his family.

His fishing business has encountered mounting problems in recent months because he does not have enough money to buy fishing equipment. Accordingly, Mr. Huy U. is seeking a loan to buy such equipment to fish in the lake. Previously, Mr. Huy U. obtained a loan from Acleda Bank, which he used to buy fishing equipment.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
