Men's Group's story

Men is 45 years old, and he has two children, both of whom are dependent on him and in school. He is a villager from a rural area located in the Moung Russey district of Battambang province, Cambodia. Rice farming is the main source of the family’s income. He supplements his income by raising pigs. He has been in this business for thirteen years. He earns approximately 11,000 KHR per day from the current business, and he can manage to save about 6,000 KHR each day.

Men’s group consists of two members, who have been with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund, for one loan cycle. They successfully paid back the prior loan. Men is leading the group to apply for a new loan with VisionFund. As the leader, Men is going to use his portion of the loan to buy fertilizers for his farmland and to buy piglets for raising. Men hopes to increase his income so as to improve his family's living conditions, and to keep his children in school.
