A loan of $975 helped to buy mesh window coverings and bathroom items.

Maria's story

María is fifty-eight years old and is a hard-working and fighting woman. She is a widow, and has three children, one of which is twenty-five years old and lives by her side in her own home. Every day she works a lot in order to improve her quality of life. Maria's current work consists of renting small apartments at affordable prices. For the construction of these housing units, she counted on the support of her husband when he was alive. She has been involved in this work for more than twenty years. Now she is putting air-conditioning in some rooms. She has customers that pay her on-time, and some of her tenants now live there permanently. She feels happy developing her work because she can receive daily income and good monthly profits without making much effort. She also feels calm because she can contribute to the livelihood of her home. She hopes that things will continue going well for her and that she will be able to continue working in peace. This is her seventh loan with MFP. She is thankful to all who have made it possible for her to have access to this type of financing. With this help, she is sure she will advance in her work. She promises to pay all her installments on time. She feels calm and supported by the members of her communal bank. With the amount she is requesting (2500), she will buy mesh to cover the windows. She will also buy some items for the bathrooms and will put air-conditioning into more rooms.
