Genny Dinora's story

In the district of Rocafuerte the group members of the Communal Bank "Sweet Friendship" meet every two weeks. The area is known for its delicious sweets that are prepared by locals and it is recognized throughout the whole country for the warmth of the kind and hard-working people. This is where Mrs. Genny lives. She is 51 years old, married, and she has three children ages 19, 17, and 15. They are all students, the oldest in the University and the younger ones in high school. Her husband works for the city government in their town. Mrs. Genny has a food store in her home, and she sells all kinds of basic needs products as well as certain party and paper products She also works making sweets and foods for business people who take it to other cities. She also sells these items in her store. Her children help her in her store when she is preparing food or sweets. She has been working in this business for more than 15 years and it provides a good income. This loan is for buying sugar, food coloring, flour, and other food items to stock her store. Genny has been working for several years with the Communal Bank and she likes the help that it always offers via loans. Her dream is to see her children make it.
