A loan of $500 helped to purchase fruit, e.g., passions, lime, mangoes, etc.

Dancan's story

Dancan is a resident of Kongowea, Kenya. He sells fruits – a business he began using his savings. He has been running the business for the last 15 years. Dancan is a married father of four children, two of whom are in school. He also owns rental houses. He is applying for a loan of 41,900 Kenyan shillings to purchase fruits and groceries to sell. He sells oranges, passions, lime, mangoes, etc.

The main challenge he faces is the seasonal business climate and lack of capital for expansion – a problem he sees partly sorted by this loan. He intends to sell fruit wholesale in the future. Dancan will use the extra income from the business to improve the standard of living of the family, especially to support education.
