A loan of $1,100 helped to buy more fashion dresses, blouses, and skirts to increase her sales.

Bendu's story

Bendu is 35 years old, and lives at West Point with her child who is 19 years old, and a friend. She left school in the 7th grade, and has been managing her business for the past three years.

She has a shop where she sells fashion dresses, skirts, and blouses. She learned to sell from her mother, and started this business with the small amount of 30,000 Liberian Dollars (LRD). Bendu makes a profit when she sells, because of the good interaction she has with her customers, and the quality materials that she sells. One of the difficulties she faces is the exchange rate of the Liberian dollars to the US Dollar.

She has asked for a loan to buy more fashion dresses, blouses, and skirts to increase her sales. Her plan for the future is to educate her child, and build a house.
