Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Abashatsi Group's story

Hazina is part of the Abashatsi Group and lives in Bujumbura. She is 40-years old and married to H Damien, a shopkeeper. Together, they have three children, ages 5 to 15.

For three years, she has been in the business of household goods (plates, spoons, forks...).

She is on her eighth loan with Turame. With this Kiva loan, she will increase her capital and buy more plates for resale in order to earn more revenue.

In the coming years, she would like to build her own home and see her children attend school.
