Emma is married and a mother of four dependents. She is 48 years old and lives in Mauswagon, Calamba.
Emma is a farmer. She plants and sells vegetables to earn a living. She delivers vegetables like leafy vegetables and squash to the local market. She has been doing this business for six years. She earns PHP 10,000 each month in this work.
She has requested a loan of PHP 30,000 from GDMPC to purchase vegetable seeds and fertilizers. Emma is a new member of GDMPC. In the future, Emma hopes to purchase a hectare of land for vegetable production and to gain more income.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
