Fe De Los Porteños Group's story

This communal bank is named "Fe de los Porteños." It is made up of 20 enterprising people who work in different businesses, such as: raising chickens, selling in markets, selling chocolates, weaving, selling tools, selling toys, selling perfumes, selling mugs, providing services, and other businesses. All of the members of this group live in the city of Viña del Mar.

Denisse is a member of this communal bank. In the photo, she is seated in the first row, in the first spot on the right, wearing grey pants and a black jacket. She has light brown hair, which is long and is worn loose. She has had a business selling tools for a year. She comments that she works in the free market on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, offering all types of tools and hardware for sale and waiting on her customers. She arranges her schedule according to her availability. She usually buys her merchandise in the city of Santiago, where she can get a great variety of good quality items at a low cost. With this loan, she will buy hardware such as hammers, saws, pliers, wrenches, brushes, screwdrivers, and screws. One of Denisse's goals is to set up a hardware store, so that she could offer a greater variety of tools and hardware items for sale.

Denisse lives with her husband and 2 year-old child. For her family, she dreams of having her own home so that she could provide for her family's well-being and give them a better quality of life. With regard to her work, she dreams of having her own hardware store so that she could generate more income and be able to buy more merchandise to stock up her business.

Denisse is very content and grateful for the opportunity being provided by Fondo Esperanza, because it has opened up work opportunities for her, and allowed her to invest in her business. She's also developed as a person, because she has learned to organize and to allocate her income and investments in a better way.

Viña del Mar is a city and commune located on the central Chilean coast. It is known as the City of Gardens, because of the gardens and patios that are seen among the old homes in the city. It is also considered to be the tourism capital of Chile.
