The six members of the Gnessouma group are mainly married women with an average age of 35, and have an average of three children. The majority of them live in monogamous families in Hamdallaye, a popular neighborhood in the city of Sikasso, the third-largest administrative region in Mali. They are on their third loan with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution, and aim to satisfy their customers' requests.

Kadia works selling pagnes [traditional wrap-around cloth] made using traditional wax methods, and is pictured third from right to left. She plans to buy about five lengths of pagne with her loan, which she will resell on a cash basis on site and from home, to a clientele mainly comprised of women. She hopes to make an average monthly profit of 37,500 francs CFA, part of which will be used to repay her loan and the rest will be saved.

Les six membres du groupe GNESSOUMA sont essentiellement de femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 35 ans, et ont en moyenne 3 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles monogamiques à Hamdallaye un des quartiers populaire de la ville de Sikasso 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles sont à leur troisième prêt avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
Mme KADIA fait le commerce des pagnes wax dans ce groupe de femmes de GNESSOUMA elle se tient en troisième position de la droite vers la gauche.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt environs 5 pièces de pagne qu’elle revend en détail sur place en famille à une clientèle composée pour la majeur partie de femmes au comptant.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 37 000 FCFA dont une partie est utilisée pour payer le prêt et son interêt et l’autre pour son épargne .

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
