A loan of $250 helped to buy chickens to sell.

Joyce's story

Joyce is a 36-year-old married woman. She has three children with ages ranging from 7 years to 13 years. She describes herself to be a social and God-fearing woman.

She operates a retail business where she sells water and chickens. She has been involved in this business for five years. Her business is located at a highly populated area, and her primary customers are local residents. She describes her biggest business challenge to be insufficient funds for improving the business.

Joyce will use the 20,000 Kes (Kenyan shillings) loan to buy chickens to sell. Her business goal is to run a new business of a hotel within five years. She hopes that, in the future, she will improve the living standards of her family. This is her first loan from SMEP DTM.
