A loan of $600 helped to buy bread, cheese, cakes, sponge cake, honey, blancmange.

Maria's story

Maria, 53, lives with Luis, with whom she has a 19 year old son. They own their home in a rural district. Maria is a sweet mother and a dedicated woman.. She runs a business. Thanks to the location of her home (next to the main highway) she was able to open a shop where she sells food like sodas, breads, sandwiches, cakes, honey, cheese and other things. She has been doing this for 7 years and says it's going very well, especially on Saturdays and Sundays when she gets most of her visitors. "Every 15 days I make purchases for my store, because some items are perishable. Once a month I buy other products like sodas," she says. Meanwhile, her husband works on their land planting potatoes and peas. Maria also helps him with this. Now they will have to make more purchases for the store, which is why she needs your help. This will be her fourth loan with MFP. As with the previous loans, she says that they sill be punctual in making her payments. She belongs to the village bank "Progreso Huayounioc", where she is the president and a very active member. With the money from the loan she will be able to buy the merchandise she needs to stock her shop (bread, cheese, cakes, sponge cake, honey, blancmange, etc).
