A loan of $500 helped to buy wood and other materials he needs to build furniture, such as paint, varnish, thinner, sandpaper and glue.

Edwin Antonio's story

Edwin, 31, is originally from Estelí. He is married with one son, and he is a carpenter. He started working for other people and that was where he learned the carpentry trade at the age of 18. However, after saving up his money, he was able to buy his own tools and he decided to start his own carpentry workshop, in order to become independent. He has no other income apart from what his business generates. He would like to introduce his furniture, like tables, cabinets, wardrobes, and chairs into the commercial establishments in other departments. He hopes to keep growing his business and develop his knowledge of furniture in order to offer his customer's quality products.

Edwin is applying for the loan to buy wood and other materials that he needs to build furniture, like paint, varnish, thinner, sandpaper, and glue. He believes this will help him increase his business, because the holiday season is coming, and the demand for furniture products goes up. His wish is to prepare himself with the orders that customers place and to be able to sell his product quickly and reach other markets. His future plans are to improve his workshop and have more products in his inventory. That way he will be able to display his furniture for his customers.
