A loan of $1,300 helped buy more cattle.

Byron Jose's story

Byron was born in the region of Rio Abaho, in the municipality of Estelí. He is 35 years old and the father of two children. He works in agriculture, a job he's been doing since he was a young man. He grows basic grains as well as vegetables such as tomatoes and sweet peppers. He also has another business selling livestock when he's not busy with his farm. It is a second source of income for him.

Byron is very grateful to MiCrédito and Kiva for the support they have provided through the loan. It has brought many positive changes to his family's financial situation as he has been able to invest in his business and obtain a much-improved harvest--both of which have led to an increased income.

He is now considering using the profits to buy more cattle to raise and sell and is seeking a loan for this purpose as he believes that buying cattle and then selling them at a good price will bring in more money. His future plans include buying a grass shredder and some more land so that his animals develop well. In this way he will be able to earn more money and grow his business.
